About
Jenny Bergström is a designer, educator, and researcher with an interest in the impact design can have on our everyday lives. Jenny is a professor of Design Thinking in the Department of Design at HMKW University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany, and a doctoral student in the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland in Finland.
Her research focuses on the role of materials in the creative process and how design thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration can benefit from material explorations. In addition to mentoring students during their bachelor and master projects, she teaches courses such as Design Thinking, Human-centred Design, Persuasion and Engagement, and Critical and Creative Thinking. The participatory teaching approach and the anchoring of students' work tackling real-life problems are important aspects of Jenny's teaching.
